THE CTS for Kids TEAM
Kimberly Mood, M.S. OTR/L
Owner and occupational therapist
While working as an Early Interventionist after college, Kimberly realized that she had a passion for empowering children and their families and chose to further her education to receive her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy and certification.
After years of helping children throughout the Rock Hill area, Kimberly’s dream of opening her own practice to continue supporting families through in home and clinic based therapy came to fruition and thus Carolina Therapy Solutions for Kids was born.
When she's not working, you'll find Kimberly with her husband Kevin and their two kids. She loves family time and, if "spare time" were a real thing, she'd love to be playing volleyball, rafting over whitewater rapids, or traveling.
Office Assistant & Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L)
Shakeena, originally from Duncan, SC, earned a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Lander University in Greenwood, SC and an Associates degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from Piedmont Technical College of Newberry, SC.
She has coached basketball teams, hosted basketball camps, volunteered for the Special Olympics, and traveled to Washington, DC and Philadelphia as an advocate for occupational therapy professional associations.
In her spare time, Shakeena enjoys watching movies, traveling, church, and spending time with family.
"I am very passionate about my career as a COTA, and I am very excited about this field because it uses activities that are most important to people as the beginning and end goals of therapy. As I begin this journey as a COTA my goal is to communicate, facilitate, educate, and support all efforts into patient and family-centered care."
Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)
Carlyn is from Upstate New York, and got her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2012 from SUNY University at Buffalo. As a clinician, Carlyn has worked with a wide variety of clients in a diverse collection of settings including a day habilitation center, a supported living center, a hospital and an inpatient rehabilitation center. Most recently, Carlyn has been working with older adults in a retirement community, but is honored to join the CTS4K team, and apply her unique professional experience to pediatrics!
Carlyn is a BIG Buffalo Bills fan. She loves spending time with her husband, Joe, son, Chase, and dog Ellie. She looks forward to traveling locally and abroad, and getting together with family and friends.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L)
Lori, originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina, graduated from Greenville Technical College in 2014 with her Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant. Her niece, Zoe, has been her biggest inspiration, and is what sparked her interest in the therapy field. As a child with Mosaic Down Syndrome, Zoe has shown Lori the impact this field has on the lives of children with special needs. She loves working with children, and think the world would be a lot better if we could all see things through their eyes.
Lori is a huge Clemson fan and never misses a game during football season. She loves the outdoors, enjoys camping in the mountains or at the beach, and spending free time with her friends and family.
Leigh Anne Miller
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L)
Originally from Statesville, North Carolina, I have an extensive background working with children. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Special Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (go 49ers). I have since become a passionate therapist and advocate for children with disabilities as well as their families. I graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Rowan Cabarrus Community College with high honors and earned an award for an adaptive equipment design and prototype at the state conference.
When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors to camp, hike, kayak, and exploring new places with my husband and our dog. I enjoy sports of all types, watching them and participating in competitive games. When it comes to a new adventure, I never say no!
Occupational therapy has done more for me than I ever thought was possible. It's changed my life and I am excited to share this wonderful profession with the community of Rock Hill!
Culture + Design Strategist
Olivia has a background in Occupational Therapy, using her skillset to take a non-traditional approach to inclusion and accessibility in the greater Charlotte area. With a background in pediatric therapy, specializing in Transition into Adulthood, Olivia quickly noticed how local communities lacked programming and key accessibility tools needed for her friends with disabilities and/or people of color. Her journey in culture work began as a consultant in spaces such as museums and libraries she frequented, providing an intersectional lens and bridging access to opportunities for young adults with disabilities. Olivia has partnered with organizations such as Microsoft and The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and continues to create self-initiatives such as the #GivingBlackWomenTheirFlowers initiative she started at the beginning of the global pandemic. Her goal: " To create soft spaces in efforts to help underserved communities feel more at home."
Olivia is collaborating with the CTS4K team to expand upon the internal company culture, leading interior design, building/sustaining community relationships, planning creative programming, and HR management. When she is not wearing many hats, Olivia enjoys cooking, coffee shopping (yes, it is a sport), and exploring all things arts and culture.
