1. Why did you choose the Occupational Therapy field?

    • Turning 30 and going through a divorce left me wondering what I wanted to do with my life. I was able to keep my niece Zoe, who has Mosaic Down Syndrome, at my home while I figured things out. She had home health OT. Sometimes, I participated but usually I continued working on whatever task throughout the week with just me and Zoe. One day, while we were working on either handwriting or cutting, Zoe “got it” and completed the task without me really helping. Seeing the excitement in her face and hearing it in her voice, I said to myself that I think I found my calling…. the rest is history!!
